Problem summary
When transferring textures between two objects at high resolutions e.g. 8K there is an extreme amount of pixellation in the texture of the target mesh. Regardless of whether the meshes are identical.
NOTE: This is most visible on concave surfaces of a mesh
Customer reported version
3.1v1
Customer reported platform
Windows 7
Steps to reproduce
1) Open the archive stored at \netshare\support\4Borna\transfermaps31
2) Load the image 'tiledtexture.jpg' into the tiled node on the Source mesh
3) Repeat U & V 20 times
4) Convert the layer to paintable (right click, convert to paintable)
5) When that is done, right click the layer and click transfer
6) Send the layer to the target Mesh
7) If you compare both objects in the UV view when it is done you will notice a great loss in quality
(From left to right, source and target)
Reproduced by support
Win 7, Linux RHEL 6.7 3.1v1, 3.0v3, 3.1v1
Working in 2.6v5
Expected behaviour
