ID 241667 - Crash when loading alembic asset as PTEX

DESCRIPTION

Importing alembic assets as Ptex will sometimes crash Mari.

REPO

1) Open Mari

2) Import an alembic (.ABC) file

3) Open as ptex, apply to all, leave on default settings.

4) Mari will crash on import.

WORKAROUND

1) Open Nuke (tested versions 9.0v8, 10.0v1, 10.0v5, 10.5v1)

2) Create a 'ReadGeo' node by pressing tab when hovering over your Node Graph and typing 'ReadGeo'.

3) Select the geometry file to read into the scene.

4) Create a 'WriteGeo' node and select the export path and file name.

5) Ensure that both the file path and file type knobs contain the extension '.abc' for alembic files.

6) Close Nuke and re-attempt import into Mari.
