ID 306207 - Current Paint Target can sometimes inconsistently turn on and off the viewer LUT

Problem summary
In the attached archive, the Current Paint Target appears to inconsistently turn on and off the viewer LUT.

Customer reported version

Steps to reproduce

1) Open the attached archive (linked in comments)

2) Notice that the colorspace seems to display inconsistently between Current Channel and Current Paint Target

3) Ensure all merge nodes have colorspace enabled in the Node Graph

4) Continue to flick between layers and shader views

5) Results will be sporadic. Sometimes selecting the group will enable the viewer LUT again and will consistently remain enabled, however, in other test cases this did not happen. There seems to be a bug with the archive's logic on when to turn on/off the the viewer LUT for Current Paint Target.

Workaround
By adjusting the following settings, you may be able to work around this issue should it present:
(1) Change the Colorspace of the problematic channel to "linear"
(2) Set it back to "Automatic(linear)"

Reproduced by support
3.3v1 - Windows 7/10, OSX 10.12.4, CentOS6
3.2v1
3.1v3
3.1v1
3.0v4
3.0v1 - Windows 7, OSX 10.12.4, CentOS6

Earliest version tested
Not tested further back than 3.0v1 where Colorspace was implemented.
Unable to say for certain whether or not this is regressive as the behaviour is so inconsistent.

Expected behaviour
The viewer colorspace should remain the same regardless of whether you are viewing the Current Channel or the Current Paint Target.

Actual behaviour
Results were inconsistent with the viewer LUT sometimes being disabled when viewing Current Paint Target
