ID 234516 - When a node is selected, the *Ctrl+.* keyboard shortcut creates a Dot node instead of cancelling a render

Follow

Problem summary:

When attempting to use Ctrl+. to cancel a currently running render while a node is selected in the Node Graph tab, a Dot node is created, instead of the render being cancelled.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. In the Node Graph tab, create a CameraCreate node.
  2. Create a RenderSettings node, and connect it to the CameraCreate node.
  3. Set the edit flag on the RenderSettings node to edit its parameters.
  4. In the Parameters tab, set the resolution parameter to 4K_CinemaScope or or a similar high resolution.
  5. Right-click the RenderSettings node, and choose Preview Render from the context menu, to start a preview render from that node.
  6. Press Ctrl+. to cancel the preview render. This should work as expected.
  7. In the Node Graph tab, select the RenderSettings node.
  8. Press Ctrl+\ to repeat the previous render.
  9. Press Ctrl+. to attempt to cancel the render.

Expected behaviour:

When pressing Ctrl+. while a render is in progress, that render should be cancelled, irrespective of the selection of nodes in the Node Graph tab.

Actual behaviour:

When pressing Ctrl+. while a node is selected, a Dot node is created, and a currently running render continues to run.

Workaround:

Choose Cancel Renders from the Render menu in KATANA's main window.
