To reproduce:

* Read a movie container file into Nuke Comp

* Reduce the range of the clip by increasing "first" and reducing "last"

* Set the "before" and "after" behaviour to "black" (to make the range obvious)

* Connect a viewer

* Set the frame slider range to "input"

Note that the range does not change from the original range.

Try the same with an image sequence. Note that the range does change.

The behaviour with movie containers should be the same.

This issue goes way back - currently tested back to Nuke 7.0.
