Customer reported version:
Nuke 7.0v1
Customer reported platform:
MacOS 10.7
Steps to reproduce:
1) Launch Nuke, and create a Text node in the Node Graph.
2) Type or paste frame: [frame] into the message knob.
3) Close the Text node's Properties and create a RotoPaint node.
4) In the left Viewer Toolbar, click the Clone tool icon

5) Click and drag in the Viewer to draw one paint stroke.
6) In the top Viewer Toolbar, check the box labeled onion, and then change the paint source from fg to bg

7) Scrub through the Timeline, and observe how the onion skin updates.
8) In the top Viewer Toolbar, change the toolbar_source_frame_offset field from 0 to any other value

9) Scrub through the Timeline, and observe how the onion skin stops updating.
Expected behavior:
The Viewer should display the onion skin consistently.
Actual behavior:
The onion skin stops updating and is no longer visible.
Workaround:
The onion skin can be refreshed by cutting and pasting the RotoPaint node back into the Node Graph. Saving and re-opening the file can also restart the onion skin.
