ID 248590 - ‘Select Children’ in scene graph expands but doesn’t select children when scene graph hasn’t been expanded before

Follow

Problem summary
Right-clicking on a scene graph location and choosing ‘Select Children’ will expand the child locations, but not select them, if the scene graph hasn’t been expanded before in the Katana session.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Create a PrimitiveCreate node in a new Katana scene.
  2. Collapse the scene graph, save the scene and close Katana.
  3. Re-open Katana and the scene.
  4. Expand the scene graph to root/world/geo, but leave geo collapsed.
  5. Right-click on geo > Select Children.
  6. The scene graph is expanded to primitive, but the location isn’t selected.
  7. Collapse geo, right-click again > Select Children. Now the primitive location is expanded and selected.

Reproduced by support
Katana 1.6v3, 2.0v1, 2.0v5, 2.1v1, 2.1v5, 2.5v1, 2.5v4 RHEL 6
Katana 2.5v1, 2.5v4 Windows 7

Expected behaviour
‘Select Children’ should always expand and select the child locations, if the scene graph has been expanded before in the session or not.

Actual behaviour
The scene graph needs tp be expanded to the desired locations at least once before ‘Select Children’ works correctly.
