Problem summary
When exporting using 'Process as Sequence' and a transcode set to '.mov' the exporting process will take much longer than on competitive software.
Customer reported version
nuke.10.0v4
Customer reported platform
10.11
Steps to reproduce
1. create a sequence
2. import a mov clip
3. create three tracks and place the mov on each track
4. copy and paste the mov along each track until they are all 15 seconds in length on the timeline
5. right click on sequence in bin and click export
6. select 'Process as Sequence'
7. use a transcode preset and set to '.mov'
- I used Log10Cineon
- path folder strucutre:
{sequence}_{version}
{sequence}_{version}.####.{ext}
8. export
Result: export takes 5 minutes
9. Export sequence as an XML
10. Import XML in Premiere
11. Export
Result: export takes 15 seconds
Workaround
Can speed up rendering by using preferences > threads/processes > 'no render limits' (this will however make the UI slower)
Reproduced by support in:
NukeStudio 13.0v1 - macOS 10.13, CentOS 7
NukeStudio 12.0v1 - macOS 10.13
NukeStudio 11.0v1 - macOS 10.13
NukeStudio 10.0v4 OSX 10.11.3
Expected behavior
Export times to be closer to those of other applications
Actual behavior
Export times exceeds those of other applications
