says that then you use a Remove node, "The layer and/or the channels you removed are no longer displayed in node parameters downstream from the Remove node."
 
and this currently fails.
 
1.
Just create a user channel with a ShuffleCopy - use default names and the .nk script will get this line:
 
add_layer {layer1 layer1.red layer1.green layer1.blue layer1.alpha}
 
2.
Then add a Remove node and remove that entire layer
 
3.
Then add a node downstream (e.g. Roto) and note that the layer and channel pulldowns still display the removed layer and channels
