Problem summary
When you select 'Use GPU for viewer when possible' in 'Edit -> Preferences -> Viewer' window, The viewer will break the color of roto splines.
The splines turn completely black (Including the points) when you zoom into the viewer. Zooming out will fix the colour issue.

Steps to reproduce
1) Open Nuke, Create a spline with the Roto tool.
2) Go to 'Edit -> Preferences -> Viewer' and check the 'Use GPU for viewer when possible' checkbox 'on'.
3) Remove the current viewer & create a new one. (Simply press '1' on your roto node)
4) Zoom into the new viewer window.
Result) The roto spline will turn black when zoomed in. If you zoom out the roto spline will turn back to Red (Or your chosen colour)
Workaround
Make sure 'Use GPU for viewer when possible' checkbox is unchecked while using the roto toolset.
