ID 140985 - NukeStudio - Project Panel - Shouldn't be able to move a clip/sequence's bin location within the Bin View side of the Project panel

Follow

Problem summary

It is possible to drag project bin items into different bins without actually dragging them from the project Bin View (right side of Project panel) to the bin-tree in the Project Tab (left side of Project panel).

When a number of selected bin items are dragged onto a different bin item, they will be moved to the location of the bin item they were released over.  However, trying to drag clips from the Content bin to a bin in the Project bin-tree will give a pop-up asking 'Are you sure you want to move these items? (Use Alt drag to move without prompting.)’.

NukeStudio should do the same thing for dragging within the content bin, or force the user to use a modifier by default to prevent this being done by accident.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open NukeStudio, import a directory (preferably one with a lot of sub-directories and files).

  2. Make note of the number of files in the first folder and another folder, for example FolderA(3) and FolderB(23). It can be helpful  to maximise the panel and adjust the project bin column so you can see everything.

  3. Click on the Project title in the Tree View to go to the overall Content Bin. Select all items in the Content Bin (left side of Project panel).

  4. Drag them over another shot in the Bin and release

  5. Look at the Project Tree View again. It will have changed to something like: FolderA (0) and FolderB (26). Clicking on the bins directly will show that the clips have actually moved bins.

Workaround

Unknown.

Reproduced by support

NukeStudio 9.0v1, 9.0v8, 10.0v1, 10.0v4, 10.0v5, 10.5v1 Windows 7 & RHEL 6

Expected behaviour

If it is possible to move clips to different bins by dragging them within the Bin View, the user should be prompted to confirm if they actually want to move the clips like they have to in the Tree View.

Actual behaviour

It is easily possible to move clips to different bins by accident.
