Problem summary
Auto localize/localise caching does not work with path substituted file paths on OSX
Customer reported version
nuke.10.0v5
Customer reported platform
10.11
Steps to reproduce
1. File > Preferences > Localization > auto localize from > select folder directory containing footage at a shared location
2. Set up path substitution: File > Preferences > General > Path substitution
3. OK preferences and save script
4. Create read node with file path set to a shared "auto-localize from directory"
5. Read node should localise and have orange bar above the node with 'localization policy' set to 'from auto-localize path'
6. Change the read nodes file path to one using path substitution
Result: The file with the path substitution will not cache
Workaround
Unknown.
Reproduced by support
Repro:
OSX 10.11.5
Nuke 10.5v1
Nuke 10.0v5
Nuke 10.0v1
For Nuke 9 and 8 you have to perform the following additional step:
5a. Cache > Local File Cache > Update All
- this will cache your file
Nuke 9.0v8
Nuke 9.0v1
Nuke 8.0v6
Unable to repro:
Windows 8
Nuke 10.0v4
Result: This issue does not occur on Windows 8. if you repeat the steps, then when switching to the path sub file path the cache is picked up
Expected behaviour
Expected file to be cached even with path substituted file name
Actual behaviour
one path substitution was implemented auto localization no longer worked and file was not cached
