Problem summary
Nuke caching resets when switching between RGB channels in OCIO colorspace
Customer reported version
nuke.10.0v5
Customer reported platform
ubuntu
Steps to reproduce
1. Open Nuke
2. Press S in the node graph to open Project Settings > go to Color tab > set color management to OCIO
3. Read in a DPX sequence (best if its high res with 100 or so frames, so that it takes a little bit of time to cache)
4. View footage in Viewer
5. Play footage so that it fully caches
6. Once fully cached, switch viewer channel to the red channel
Result: Cache resets and has to recache (however the red channel caches quicker than the original cache rate - tried clearing cache and repeating steps with R channel, but cache time is still quicker and this might be because some data is stored in RAM, or because footage is being read from network there is a network speed bump)
7. Switch viewer channel to Blue
Result: Cache resets and has to recache
If you perform the same steps in Nuke color management rather than OCIO, then the cache doesn't reset when switching channels
Workaround
You can cache the sequence using the Flipbook, then when you change channels in the Flipbook, the sequence is not re-cached.
Reproduced by support
Nuke 10.5v3 - OSX 10.11.6
Nuke 10.5v1 - Windows 8
Nuke 8.0v6 - OSX 10.11.6
Expected behaviour
The cache to not reset
Actual behaviour
Cache resets when changing channels
