ID 286695 - Scrollbars at default application font size are too small

Follow

Problem summary:

With a recent change of scaling various graphical elements in the UI along with the application/fontSize preference, the default size of scroll bars (the one used at the default font size preference of 8) is smaller than previously. It is arguably too small, making it harder to read the scrollbar's icons, and to interact with it.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Using Katana's Preferences dialog, set the application/fontSize preference to the default of 8 (if it's not set to that size already).
  2. Show the Project Settings tab.
  3. If no vertical scrollbar is visible, expand a couple of project settings groups until it is.

Expected behaviour:

The vertical scrollbar on the right-hand side of the Project Settings tab appears in a size that makes it easy to read the icons and interact with the scrollbar's controls.

Actual behaviour:

The vertical scrollbar on the right-hand side of the Project Settings tab appears noticably smaller than before, making it harder to read the up and down buttons' icons, and making it harder to interact with the scrollbar's controls.

Workaround:

Set the application/fontSize preference to a minimum of 10 to make the scrollbar appear as big as it did before at a fontSize preference of 8.

Reproduced versions/platforms:

  • Katana 2.6v2/Linux

Customer version/platform:
