ID 328083 - Nuke Studio creates an empty VFX layer when creating a Targa export through the Create Comp Special export option.

Problem summary
When exporting out of Nuke Studio using the 'Create Comp Special' export option, if you export as a targa file the VFX1 layer will be created as expected, but the layer will be empty.

In addition you will get the following error message in the console/terminal:

Customer reported version
nuke.11.0v3

Customer reported platform
windows7

Steps to reproduce

1) Open Nuke Studio

2) Import footage (10-20 frames is enough) and drag into the empty Sequence 1 timeline to start an edit

3) Right-click on the clip in the sequence and select 'Effect>Create Comp Special'

4) Select a location for the script and renders to go to

5) In the Create Comp export window, select 'Basic Nuke Shot'

6) In the export structure settings under the 'renders' structure click on the file name structure and alter the file type to 'targa' (see below image)

7) Click 'Create Comp'

Result: You will get a VFX1 layer created, but this layer will be empty, this usually contains the created Nuke script re-referenced back into the layer for roundtripping.

8) Follow the processes about from step 5 and choose dpx as the file type, this works correctly.

Workaround
If possible, our suggestion would be to avoid using Targa as an exporting format till the issue have been resolved

If you have no other option as a format, you can use the following workaround that uses the rendered footage to link back to the script rather than the script:

1) Right-click on the clip and select 'Export...'

2) Select Basic Nuke Shot and change the settings to Targa as per step 6 above

3) Click 'Export' (This will export the same as the Create Comp will, but without the linking)

4) Right-click the clip and select 'Build Track>From Export Structure'

5) Select 'Basic Nuke Shot' and select the file export structure under renders and click 'Build'

Result: This has now built the VFX layer based on the export structure. In order to have these update, you will need to render these directly from the Nuke script and refresh the clip in the VFX track within the timeline

- This issue appears to be in all versions of Nuke Studio.

Expected behaviour
The 'Create Comp Special' export options should allow the exporting of targa sequences and the re-importing of the exported script for roundtripping.

Actual behaviour
The 'Create Comp Special' export option, creates an empty new VFX1 layer.
