ID 325550 - Color wheel swatch as a separate floating window does not retain position or resize information, after closing and opening a new swatch in Nuke 11.
Problem summary When selecting the color wheel swatch (located in the grade/colorcorrect nodes), you have the option to open this as a floating window by setting this in the settings or ctrl-clicking. If you resize the color wheel window and close the floating window, usually this positional and scale information will be retained for all future swatch selections. In Nuke 11 releases, if the first swatch is altered, closed and then re-opened using a separate color wheel swatch, it will change the position back to the default position and not retain the window location from the initial swatch resize.
This is issue is only occurring in Nuke 11 releases over all operating systems. Within previous Nuke releases, the window stayed in the same location after closing and changing swatch selections.
Customer reported version nuke.11.0v3
Customer reported platform ubuntu
Steps to reproduce
1) Open a new Nuke 11 script.
2) Alter the preferences to open a new color picker as a floating window. 'Preferences > Control Panels > color picker button opens = floating color picker'
3) Create a 'Grade' node
4) Click on the Color wheel swatch for the blackpoint value, the color wheel will open in a separate floating window
5) Select the Color wheel swatch for the whitepoint value (without closing the Color swatch floating window) Result: The window remains in the same spot
6) Change back to the Color wheel swatch for the black point (without closing the Color swatch floating window)
7) Close the Color swatch window
8) Open a new Color swatch window for the whitepoint value Result: The location of the newly opened whitepoint Color swatch floating window does not retain the location of the blackpoint Color swatch floating window.
Workaround Our current suggestion is to keep the color wheel embedded into the tool rather than floating. If you do need to retain the floating window, our suggestion would be to keep the floating window open after choosing a position until this issue has been resolved in a future release.
