Problem summary
Users have discovered issues where the Viewer tab UI will not update if the launching Workspace is set as full screen on a secondary monitor.
Although the Viewer UI does not update, moving the exposure/gamma and timeline sliders will update the image.
This issue can be reproduced and appears to be caused by switching the viewer to another monitor by a Workspace preset.
Customer reported version
nuke.11.1v1
Customer reported platform
Windows 7
Steps to reproduce
1) Open Nuke within the default Compositing Workspace. (you may need to reset your Workspace for the default version)
2) Right-click the Viewer tab and use the 'Float Pane' option.
3) Move the Viewer floating pane to your secondary monitor.
4) Make the Viewer tab full screen. (
alt+s )
5) Save the Workspace as a new layout. (e.g CompositingFullALT )
6) Close and reopen Nuke. (have the Compositing layout as the default start)
7) Read an image into the Node Graph.
8) Switch to the layout created earlier through the Workspace toolbar.
9) Once the Viewer has loaded on the secondary screen, edit the Exposure/Gamma sliders.
Result: The sliders will not update in the UI, but the image will update as expected
Workaround
When the Viewer freezing occurs, refresh the Viewer by removing it from full screen, then put it back into full screen mode. This can be done by pressing
Alt+S twice.
If the above does not work, reload the layout through the Workspace toolbar or remove and add a new Viewer tab.
