Follow

Problem summary
When creating a new sequence via drag & dropping footage into the Timeline editor, depending on the frame rate of the footage's audio, this can cause muted audio.

This issue appears to happen with specific mp4 and ProRes Quicktime files that are encoded to 23.98/29.97fps.

Customer reported platform
10.11

Steps to reproduce

1)  Open .hrox script and import your mp4/mov file

2)  Drag & drop the footage into the timeline editor to create a new sequence

3)  Play through the sequence with audio on.
Result: No audio is played, and there may be a red speaker with an 'X' in the top right of the viewer while playing.

Workaround
There are two workarounds for this issue, both are as below:

A.

1) Create a new Sequence via 'Right click the project window -> New -> New Sequence'

2) Edit the 'Frame Rate' in the Timeline view to the correct fps.

3) Drag & drop your footage into the Sequence

B.

1) Drag & drop your footage into the Timeline editor to create a new sequence (Like the reproduction steps above)

2) Edit the 'Frame Rate' to any value and select 'Keep frame numbers' on the popup

3) Switch back to the correct fps of your footage.
