ID 332665 - Error with Hiero 11.1v1 when rendering an export preset that contains transcoded footage, set to be read from the exported nuke script.

Follow

Problem summary
When exporting from Hiero, you have the option to transcode footage in the same export preset as the script. All that needs to be set correctly is the Read node in the script to be connected in the Project files export settings.

Within the Hiero 11.1v1 release this functionality no longer works correctly as it did in the earlier releases of Hiero 11.0v4 and earlier.

Note: This has also been tested in Nuke Studio 11.1v1 and has the same results as the Hiero release versions below.

Customer reported version
Hiero 11.1

Customer reported platform
CentOS 7

Steps to reproduce

1) Open a new Hiero project

2) Import footage and drag into a new sequence

3) Right-click on footage in the timeline and select 'Export...'

4) Adapt the 'Basic Nuke Shot' template by adding a transcode export option. See image below for reference

5) Click 'Export' and select a directory for the export.

6) Inside the Nuke project File options, set the 'Read Nodes' to select the newly created transcode location direcory
7) Inside the 'Export Queue' tab, you will see that it has error-ed, click on the eye button.

Result: The functionality does not export properly with the 'NukeShotExporter' and you will see the following error message:

8) Conduct steps 1-5 in Hiero or Nuke Studio 11.0v4 (or earlier)
Result: Issue does not occur and renders and links correctly

Workaround
Avoid using Hiero 11.1v1 when transcoding files that are being read back into a script from the same export.

Note: If your project has been created in Hiero 11.1v1, unfortunately due to substantial changes to the Hiero 11.1v1 basecode, it is no longer possible to open a Hiero 11.1v1 script in an earlier release eg. Hiero 11.0v4

Reproduced by support
This bug has been reproduced in:
Hiero 11.1v1 - CentOS 6.9 - Windows 7 - MacOSX 10.13 - regression

Unable to reproduce bug in:
Hiero 11.0v4 - CentOS 6.9 - Windows 7 - MacOSX 10.13

Earliest version tested
Hiero 11.0v4
- This issue no longer appears in this version and has regressed

Expected behaviour
Hiero 11.1v1 should be able to transcode and read through the exported nuke project as per previous Hiero release versions.

Actual behaviour
The 'Nuke Shot Exporter' has errors when trying to read in the transcoded footage inside the same export setting.
