Palettes are not automatically repainted on launch when using XFCE3 desktop managers

Steps to reproduce

1) Launch Mari in Verbose with the Verbose log set to full screen

2) Mari will launch with UI issues. Please see attached video for more

Workaround
Using a GNOME based desktop manager will resolve this issue.

Unable to reproduce: Fedora 19, CentOS 6.9, CentOS 7.3, CentOS 7.5

Customer reproduced: 

Fedora 20 w/ Quadro M4000 (or GTX1080)  
CentOS 7.5 w/ Quadro K4000

Expected behaviour

Mari should launch with no palette refresh issues.

Actual behaviour
Verbose log is sometimes visible beneath the palettes and areas of the UI may not update until selected.
