Steps to reproduce
1) Open Example Head
2) Create a new color channel
3) Disable Color Management (File > Settings)
4) Paint onto your geometry and leave the paint in the buffer
5) In the Channels Palette, under 'Color Data' toggle Scalar Data on and off
Notice: There is no change in colorspace as Color Management is disabled
6) Change your Paint Buffer Painting Mode to 'Paint Flow Vectors'
7) In the Channels Palette, under 'Color Data' toggle Scalar Data on and off
Notice: There is a visible change in the painted color
