ID 355794 - Rotoshapes are not visible on Card3D if Z-depth is too near/far

Follow

Problem summary
When using a Roto spline over a Card3D, the spline is only visible to a certain Z-depth.

While viewing the Card3D and Roto node in 2D mode, if the Card3D's Z-depth is outside a certain range (0.100 - 196) units, the red roto spline outline disappears, making this not work.

For the 'Near' value, this can be resolved via altering the Camera node's Near clipping plane to a lower value ( e.g 0.001 ( Not 0 )).

The same can be done for the 'Far' value via altering the Far clipping plane to a larger number, although the maximum Z-depth is 200 units.

Setting the 'Near' plane lower, also lowers the maximum Z-depth value.

Steps to reproduce

1)  Open the attached Nuke project

2)  Double-click the Roto1 node, to keep it displayed in the Viewer

'Far' Z-Depth reproduction:

3)  View the Card3D3 node ( Right card ) and note the Z-depth value.

4)  Switch to the Card3D2 node ( Middle card ) Alter the Uniform scale to '-200'.

Result 1 :  The Roto shape will not be visible.

5)  Open the Camera node within the properties menu and alter the 'Far' clipping pane to '1000000'

Result 2:  The Roto shape will reappear in the viewer.

'Near' Z-Depth reproduction:

3)  View the Card3D1 node ( Left card )and note the Z-depth value.

4)  Switch to the Card3D2 node ( Middle card ), alter the Uniform scale to '-0.09'.

Result 1 :  The Roto shape will not be visible.

5)  Open the Camera node within the properties menu and alter the 'Near' clipping pane to '0.001'

Result 2:  The Roto shape will reappear in the viewer.

Workaround
Follow the reproduction steps for the Near or Far values above.

Please note, lowering the 'near' clipping pane will lower the maximum Z-depth.

Earliest version tested
- This issue appears to be in all versions of the product

Expected behaviour
The rotoshape should not be limited due to the clipping pane or Z-depth length

Actual behaviour
The rotoshape is cut off if the Z-Depth is brought too close to the camera.
Additionally, it is cut off when the Z-Depth is too far away from the camera.
