Problem summary
Text geometry disappears when parts of it is outside the boundaries of the viewport.

Steps to reproduce
1) Use the Text Tool and add text geometry to an empty mesh.
2) Pan the camera to the left or right side of the viewport.
3) As soon as parts of the text geometry is outside the boundaries of the viewport, it will disappear.
Workaround
Text geometry will not disappear if a Freeze Mesh Operation is added:
1) Right-click on text geometry mesh in the Items list.
2) Select Add Mesh Operation -> Freeze.
3) The text geometry will not disappear if panning outside the boundaries of the viewport.
