ID 366886 - Hydra Viewer does not interpolate smoothly between different curve widths

Follow

Problem summary

When a curve has different widths for different vertices, the widths appear stepped in the Hydra Viewer. The widths also seem to be rounded up to less than 1 digit precision. In PRMan renders, the curve goes smoothly between different widths.

Steps to reproduce

1) Open the attached Katana project containing a curve that has a different point width for each vertex.

2) Expand the scene graph and inspect the curve in the Hydra Viewer. The width of the vertices can be controlled using the float ramp user parameter on the OpScript node.

Workaround
Unknown.

Reproduced by support
Katana 3.0v4 - Windows 10

Katana 3.0v1 - Windows 10

Not reproduced in Katana 3.0v2/3.0v3 as the width attribute has no effect on curves in these versions due to a bug.

Expected behaviour
The curve widths are interpolated smoothly in the Hydra Viewer.

Actual behaviour
The curve widths appear stepped in the Hydra Viewer.
