ID 374178 - Documentation on the "Last Selected" option for Boolean operations is incorrect

Follow

Problem summary
The documentation on Booleans explains that the "Last Selected" option for Drive Mesh can be used to apply Boolean operations with any selected geometry within a single Mesh Item layer. However, this information seems to be incorrect because Boolean operations can only be applied with two or more selected Mesh Item layers.

According to a comment on a previously logged bug, the functionality has not been implemented as currently described in the documentation: "If you move one cube to another mesh layer, Last Selected works. Boolean operations work based on Item List layers, which makes it difficult/impossible to use two sections of one mesh layer for a Boolean operation".

Steps to reproduce

1) Open Modo and create a single Mesh Item layer. Add a cube and a sphere in this layer.

2) Select the polygons on the sphere and move it inside the cube.

3) First, select the polygons on the cube and then lastly select the polygons on the sphere.

4) The last selected sphere is now the Drive Mesh to invoke Boolean operations on the cube.

5) Go to Geometry -> Boolean. Change Operation to "Subtract" and Drive Mesh to "Last Selected". Click "OK" to invoke the Boolean command.

6) Remove the sphere from the Mesh Item layer. The sphere have not removed any geometry from the cube.

Workaround

Select two or more Mesh Item layers and invoke the Boolean Command with the "Last Selected" option. The last selected Mesh Item layer will act as the Drive Mesh on the other selected Mesh Item layers.
