ID 373686 - Slave machine crashes on Windows during Network Rendering when the Nvidia Optix denoising option is enabled

Follow

Problem summary
Nvidia Optix denoising is an option that can be enabled when Network Rendering with multiple machines. However, the slave machine crashes on Windows, when the denoising option is enabled in the "Final Color Output" properties on the master machine. Also, the crash does not seem to be happening on a slave machine that is using Linux.

Customer reported version
Modo 12.2v1

Customer reported platform
Windows 10

Steps to reproduce

1) Open Modo on the Master machine. Go to System -> Preferences -> Rendering -> Final Rendering.

2) In the Final Rendering options, enable "Use Network Render Nodes" and "Discover Render Nodes via Host List / Bonjour" to active Network Rendering.

2) Go to the Shading Tab. Click on the "Final Color Output" in the Shader Tree list.

3) In the "Final Color Output" properties, switch to the Render Output tab and change the "Denoising" option to "Nvidia Optix".

4) Open Modo on the slave machine. Open the Render tab and then select "Enter Slave Mode".

5) On the master machine, start to render by pressing "F10". After rendering is completed, check the slave machine to see that Modo has crashed.

Note: Nvidia Optix denoising is only supported on Windows and Linux systems running Nvidia GPUs.
