ID 370838 - Keyboard shortcuts in Hydra Viewer wrongly act on input focus rather than pointer position, possibly leading to unexpectedly triggered tools and/or commands while pointing at other tabs

Follow

Problem summary:

The keyboard shortcuts for choosing certain types of manipulators or toggling specific pieces of functionality in the Viewer (Hydra) tab wrongly act on input focus, rather than on the position of the pointer.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Launch Katana with a couple of tabs in the layout of the main window.
  2. Click into the Viewer (Hydra) tab.
  3. With the pointer over the Hydra Viewer, press the W, E, and R keys to toggle the Translate, Rotate, and Scale manipulators, respectively.
    • The manipulators should be toggled correctly.
  4. Move the pointer over the Monitor tab, and press the W, E, and R keys again.

Expected behaviour:

When pressing the W or E key with the pointer over the Monitor tab, nothing happens.

When pressing the R key with the pointer over the Monitor tab, the Red channel is chosen.

Actual behaviour:

When pressing the W or E key with the pointer over the Monitor tab, the Translate or Rotate manipulator, respectively, is selected in the Viewer (Hydra) tab.

Workaround:

A tab other than the Viewer (Hydra) tab can be clicked, to remove the input focus from the Hydra Viewer, and prevent accidental manipulator or command activation in the Hydra Viewer.
