ID 327000 - Populate Sequencer plugin splits sequence into two shot layers in Camera Sequencer instead of one.

Follow

Problem summary
Two tracks are created within the Maya Camera Sequencer for sequences containing animated panels which originated from Maya.

Specifically, if a Playblast is sent to a Flix sequence from Maya, and the Populate Sequencer - Image Planes option is used to send the sequence back to Maya, the Playblasted panels are placed on their own track. These often overlap with panels in track one. This is then the case for subsequent iterations of the sequence passed back and forth if new Playblasted panels are created, with each being placed in their own sequencer track when sent back to Maya.

Customer reported version

5.4v1

Customer reported platform
Windows10

Steps to reproduce

1) Create a sequence within Flix with 5 panels.

2) Publish sequence to Avid and apply effects to panels 2 and 4.

3) Export the sequence back to Flix via the editorial interface, importing the .mov and edl files created in Avid.

4) Open the newly imported sequence in Flix, open a new, empty scene within Maya and start the Flix-Maya Server from the Maya shelf.

5) In Flix, use the Populate Sequencer - Image Planes option to send the sequence to Maya.

6) In Maya, select panel 2 within the Camera Sequencer window, then click the Send Shot Playblast as New Panel button in the Maya Flix shelf. This will send a playblast of the animation back to the sequence in Flix.

7) Do the same for panel 4 within the Maya Camera Sequencer window.

8) Back in Flix, send the sequence with the 2 new playblasted panels back to Maya using the Populate Sequencer option again.

9) In Maya, you will then see that the playblasted panels from the Flix sequence are placed in a separate track in the Maya Camera Sequencer window.

Workaround
Unknown.

Reproduced by support

This bug has been reproduced in:
Flix 5.4v1 - Windows 10 - Maya 2017 - AVID 8.8

Earliest version tested
Flix 3v2.0012 - MacOS 10.13.1 High Sierra

The issue appears to be in all versions of Flix.

Expected behaviour
Expected the playblasted panels to be included within track 1 of the Maya Camera Sequencer, in line with the rest of the panels from the Flix sequence.

Actual behaviour
The playblasted panels were placed on their own separate track within the Camera Sequencer, and often overlapped panels within track 1.
