ID 159443 - DPX 'truncated at' image error on Read node through Viewer

Follow

Problem summary
DPX sequences exported from external encoding software may cause the following Truncated error message, 'Truncated at ******* bytes. (see below)

Further investigation has discovered from a recent user case, that if a DPX was generated from Scanity Scanner when the Dirt Matte Format was set to Embedded 2. When set to Embedded 1 this exported the RGB correctly, but not the alpha.

The image will display in the Node Graph thumbnail, but not in the Viewer and can be imported into external programs correctly.

Workaround

Currently, the best workaround is to re-render the source DPX frame within Nuke using a new Write node. This removes the issue.
