Problem summary:
Materials are placed incorrectly in the Shader tree while in a selection mode and drag/dropping a Preset Material.
This only occurs when a selection mode other than Items is active, such as Polygon.
Customer reported version:
modo.13.0v1
Customer reported platform:
Windows 10
Steps to reproduce:
*Requires Content Pack 1 or Cloud assets available*
1) In Modo, create a mesh object.
2) Open the Preset Browser (F6) and select Assets > Materials.
3) Press 3 on the keyboard to enable Polygon selection mode.
4) Click on the mesh item, highlighting multiple polygons.
5) Drag & drop a Preset material onto the selection, observing changes.
6) Open the Shader tree and view the placement of the material.
Expected behavior:
The Preset material should be placed in the Shader tree correctly, regardless of which selection mode is used.
Actual behavior:
The Preset material will add itself at the top of the Shader tree just underneath the Render layer. This is incorrect as the material is being applied directly to a model and should appear under the Base Shader.
Workaround:
Applying a material group before drag/dropping the Preset material places the Preset material layer in the Shader tree correctly.
