Steps to reproduce
1) Open Modo. 
2) Select File > open and open the attached scene.
3) Select "lace" in the item bin.
4) Expand the + icon to the left of "lace" to reveal the lace geometry item and select it.
5) Select the "Guide tool" button to reveal the guide tool settings (note: these must be revealed on the left toolbar or by pressing "k" in Modo 12.2v1 and later)
