Area Lights cast a shadow when another light is used.

Steps to reproduce


1) Download and open the attached scene.

2) Press F8 to bring up the preview render.

3) Change the Perspective to Camera 2

4) Notice how the Area light seems to be casting a square shadow.



Expected behaviour
The Area Light shouldn't cast a shadow.


Actual behaviour
The Area Light is casting a shadow.


Workaround

Change the light Falloff Type to Inverse Distance instead of Inverse Distance Squared:
