Select Polygons do not work when mesh with material tags is dragged into a new scene.

Steps to reproduce

1) Create a scene with materials and textures assigned to a model.

2) Drag the model from the open scene into a new "untitled" scene and choose "yes" to importing children and shaders. (Render camera may be reset to original position)

3) Open the Shader Tree.

4) Drag the materials out of the Imported Shaders group.

5) Delete the empty Imported Shaders group.

6) The material assignments will become broken and replaced with new, blank, default materials.

7) Attempt to "Select Polygons" by right-clicking on a material.

Expected behaviour
For the materials to remained assigned and to be able to "Select Polygons" by right-clicking on a material.

Actual behaviour
Material assignments become broken and the "Select Polygons" function does not work.

Workaround
Save, close, and reopen the scene.
