Steps to reproduce

1) Open Modo and create a VDBVoxel item.

2) In the VDBVoxel items properties load the attached file as the source file.

3) Once the files loading in scrub through the timeline.

4) In the Items list hide the VDBVoxel item and scrub through the timeline again.

Expected behaviour
When the VDBVoxel item is hidden it shouldn't have a big impact on performance.

Actual behaviour
When the VDBVoxel item is hidden it has a large impact on performance.

Workaround
Unknown.
