ID 434284 - [S] Import/Photoshop: Panels whose original artwork width is less than 1001 px will get a 1000 px high thumbnail when imported to Flix

Follow

Problem summary

Panels whose original artwork width is less than 1001 pixels will get a thumbnail that is 1000 px in height, and a width that is over 1000 px, by an amount based on aspect ratio.

This will also prevent exporting Images at the same time as Original Artwork.

Customer reported version
flix_6.2.2

Customer reported platform
macOS 10.13

Steps to reproduce

1) In Photoshop, set the Image Size to have a width of 1000 px or less and create a panel to send to Flix.

2) In Flix, open a Sequence Revision, then send this panel to Flix from PS via Current Image button in the CEP.

3) In Flix, export Image for the panel. This always exports the PNG that is used for a panel's thumbnail in the Library and Panel Browser. The thumbnail for this panel will be larger than expected.

Expected behaviour
The maximum width and height for a thumbnail by default is 1000 for both, meaning thumbnails are expected not to be over 1000 pixels in either height nor width. Exporting a thumbnail for a panel whose artwork was tiny already, should probably export an image of the same size

Actual behaviour
Thumbnail exported is 1000 pixels in height, and over 1000 pixels in width.

Workaround
Do not create panels in Photoshop with a width smaller than 1001 px.
