Problem summary
The render quits and a 'worker process failed' error message is given when rendering .mov scripts with a batch file.
Customer reported version
nuke.n/a
Customer reported platform
n_a_windows
Steps to reproduce
1) In Windows, copy/paste the following snippet and save it as a batch (.bat) file:
path="C:\Program Files\Nuke12.1v1\"
start Nuke12.1.exe -xi --safe -F 1-10 "C:\temp\test.nk"
2) In Nuke, create a Checkerboard and a Write node.
3) Adjust the file path of the Write node to output in the same directory as the script, ensuring to use the .mov container. EX: "C:\temp\test.mov"
4) Save the script as "test.nk"
5) Run the batch file and observe the output.
Expected behavior
The render should complete and display the correct information for output. EX: "Frame 1 of 10 completed"
Actual behavior
The render quits and displays the error message "worker process failed", without further context. However, in 10.5v8 and prior, the error is given but the render completes.
Workaround
Uninstalling Quicktime allows the renders to complete without issue. Additionally, the issue is not observed when rendering frames such as: .exr, .dpx, .jpg, etc.
