Problem summary
Gradient inputs stop working once assembly is collapsed. Keyframes cannot be added, and inputs do not affect the calculated result.

Steps to reproduce
1) Open Modo.
2) Open the provided scene.
3) Open the schematic.
4) Double-click the "gradient_editable" channel to reveal the graph editor.
5) Left click and modify the keyframes of the graph.
Result: Nothing will happen.
6) Right-click "test (alias)" and select "expand to assembly."
7) double click "gradient_editable" again, then modify the keyframes.
Result: The scene will update properly.

Expected behaviour
Functionality should not be disabled when the assembly is collapsed.

Actual behaviour
Functionality is disabled when the assembly is collapsed to an item.

Workaround
Unknown.
