Problem summaryWhen reading in a QuickTime reference file (not self-contained), Nuke will crash.
This issue appears to be caused by the default interpretation of QuickTime files as mov64 (Nuke's encoder) in the Nuke 12.1 releases.
Note: This issue
does not occur in Nuke 12.0 releases and earlier.
Customer reported versionnuke.12.1v1
Customer reported platform 10.14
Steps to reproduce1) Create a reference file in QuickTime Pro (by opening any QuickTime file and clicking 'Save As' and selecting 'reference file'.)
Note: This can also be created in earlier versions of Premiere Pro and Avid MC
2) Open a new Nuke 12.1 session
3) Read in the reference QuickTime file
Result: Nuke crashes
Expected behaviourNuke should not crash when reading in a QuickTime reference file
Actual behaviourNuke crashes when reading in a QuickTime reference file
WorkaroundTo avoid the issue, you can force the Read node to interpret this file as mov32 (QuickTime native)
To do this:
1) Create a Read node
2) Select the location of the QuickTime reference file
3)
Before clicking 'Open', add ':mov32' before the file path

4) Click 'Open'.
