Problem summary
The Server hangs indefinitely on launch if the operating system fails to provide a response during the asset directory creation and permission checks.

Steps to reproduce

There are no specific steps for this, however one way to reproduce this would be to have the assets directory point to a stale mount.

Expected behaviour
If the operating system does not respond after x amount of time, the Flix Server should timeout the request and output an error.

Actual behaviour
Flix Server indefinitely hangs on startup, before even logging any information about Flix version, licensing, etc.
