Problem summary
In specific scenarios using Pack UV causes crashes or the UV islands to disappear.

Steps to reproduce
1) Download and open the attached scene file.
2) Go to the UV layout and change the selected UV from None to Texture.
3) Select all of the UV islands inside of the UV viewport, select Pack... and then select OK.
4) Notice that all of the UV islands disappear.
Expected behaviour
The UV islands should be packed.
Actual behaviour
The UV islands disappear.
