Problem summary
Opening a ref panel in PS doesn't open the artwork media object, but the thumbnail instead.
In cases where the ref panel is actually an image that was directly imported into Avid, this causes issues as the panel in PS will appear small, potentially cropped out, and, depending on the Panel Open Behaviour preference, there will be an added letterboxing, or the already present letterboxing will appear recoloured.

Customer reported version
Flix 6.3.4
Steps to reproduce
1) Create a Show with 2.39 aspect ratio and create a Sequence with an empty, clean Revision.
2) In PS, select the correct aspect ratio from the Flix plugin dropdown and create 2 new templates (classic white with grey letterboxing on the top and bottom).
3) Draw something different on each one (do NOT add more layers to the template), then send one of the two to Flix as a panel, and just save the other one somewhere on your machine as a PSD.
4) Publish the single panel Sequence Revision to Avid.
5) In Avid, import the saved PSD in the bin, add a mark in and out point, and add it to the timeline.
6) Send this back to Flix using either Hold First Frame or Ignore Effects. There will be one relinked panel, and one ref.
7) Double click on the ref panel to open it in PS.
Expected behaviour
Panel opens in PS as it was when originally imported in Avid. If using Render All Frames instead, a full resolution PNG should probably be opened instead of the MOV that is the artwork.
Actual behaviour
Depending on the Panel Open Behaviour preference, you will get one of these results:
Open in Layer Comps - Letterboxing will appear to have been recoloured
Open in Timeline - Letterboxing will appear to have been recoloured
Open as separate PSD - No letterboxing at all
If you export Original Artwork for the ref panel, however, you will get a PNG that has the original grey letterboxing.
