ID 465215 - [S] From Avid: Transition ending on cut on ref followed by clip with effect on the same track will cause the whole Sequence to fail importing to Flix

Follow

Problem summary
If the sequence in Avid contains a clip that didn't come from Flix with a transition ending on cut, directly followed by a gap and a clip with an effect on the same track, the AAF will fail to import into Flix.

Steps to reproduce
1) Import two (minimum) files to Flix.
2) Publish to Avid.
3) Move one of the two clips to V2, overlapping the one on V1 so there is at least one frame after, and many frames before.
4) Add a still image file to your bin, and add this clip to the beginning of V2. Your edit at this point should be: imported clip on V2 overlapping clip on V1, followed by empty space on V2 which shows the clip on V1 underneath, Flix clip on V2 still overlapping the one on V1, followed by the last frames of the clip on V1.
5) Add a Dissolve to the imported clip only, with Ending at Cut alignment option.
6) Add an effect to the Flix clip on V2 (tested with animatte, however which effect should not matter).
7) Publish back to Flix

Expected behaviour
  • Import is successful. Transition is ignored, effect is rendered (unless Ignore Effects option is used).

Actual behaviour
  • Error: no clips found on server. Client reports unable to import sequence.
