Problem summary
Exporting a mesh from the Item List after creating or selecting its material item, results in an empty .lxp file.
This also happens if you try and save it as a preset directly after making the material group.
Customer reported version
modo.14.2v2
Customer reported platform
windows10
Steps to reproduce
1) Open a new scene file and create a mesh primitive.
2) Add a material group to the mesh primitive.

3) Select the mesh inside of the Item List.
4) Go to the Shader Tree and select the Material item inside of the created material group:

Notice that it's saving it as a .lxp (Item Preset) and not a .lxl (Mesh Preset) as expected, and then if you progress with this and import the outputted .lxp file you won't get the mesh information.
Expected Behaviour
Right-clicking a mesh inside of the Item List and saving it as a preset should be a .lxl filetype
Actual Behaviour
Right-clicking a mesh inside of the Item List and saving it out is resulting in a .lxp filetype where the mesh information is not saved.
Workaround
1) Deselect the Mesh item in the Item List, or select another object.
2) Select the Mesh item in the Item list, right-click the mesh item and select Preset > Save...
