Problem summary Licensing errors may occur during launch of Mari 5.0v1/4.8v1
On Windows 10, Mari will sometimes fail to recognise the System ID during the start-up licensing check.
The error can occur if a user has an already existing license, or is trying to install a new license via the start-up licensing dialog. This issue can affect Nodelocked, Subscription-based and Non-Commercial licenses.

Steps to reproduce With a license pre-installed:
1) Launch Mari using either the default shortcut or by double-clicking the Mari5.0v1.exe
Without a license pre-installed:
1) Launch Mari using either the default shortcut or by double-clicking the Mari5.0v1.exe
2) Install your login-based or nodelocked license via the UI
Note: This bug does not occur if Mari is launched via Command Prompt or with Verbose Output.
Expected behaviour Mari should license and launch correctly.
Actual behaviour An error message is displayed saying that 'mari_i license has not been found.':
Clicking Status reveals this error:
Attempting to install the foundry.lic file then fails:
Workaround Launch Mari via a Command Prompt window or use the shortcut to launch with Verbose Output.
Reproduced by support This bug has been reproduced in: Mari 5.0v1 - Windows 10 Mari 4.8v1 - Windows 10 - regression

Earliest version tested Mari 4.7v4 - This issue doesn't appear in this version and has regressed
