The Viewer turns black when using the low frequency GPU dithering algorithm

Steps to reproduce
1) Open Nuke
2) Create a Checkerboard node and view it
3) Press S with the cursor over the VIewer to open the Viewer Properties
3) Enable use GPU for Viewer when possible and set dithering algorithm to low frequency
Expected behaviour
For the Viewer to display an image with low frequency GPU dithering:
Actual behaviour
The Viewer turns black:
Workaround
If you are using OCIO color management, then enabling Enable OCIO GPU path for the GPU Viewer in Edit>Project Settings...>Color can help.
This does not work if you are using Nuke color management however.
