Setting the "Localize to" directory to the root level of any volume, other than C:/, results in an error

Steps to reproduce
 
1) Launch Nuke
 
2) Navigate to Edit > Preferences > Localization
 
3) Change the localize to preference to C:/
This should update the setting as expected.
 
4) Change the localize to preference to a different drive letter. For example, D:/
 
RESULT: Nuke will throw the following error and revert to the default path:
 


 
Expected behaviour
If the user has permissions to create files/folders on the root level of the volume, then they should be able to localize files to this location as well.
 
Actual behaviour
Setting the "Localize to" directory to the root level of any volume, other than C:/, results in an error
