Steps to reproduce
 
1) Download the attached .usda file

2) Open the New Project window and select the .usda file

3) Untick the 'Conform to Mari Y as up' checkbox
 
4) Create the project
 
Expected behaviour
The USD file has the up-axis encoded as "Z", so it should load orientated 'sideways'.
 
Actual behaviour
The model is conformed to Y as up.
 
Workaround
Unknown.
