Steps to reproduce
 
1) Download the customer provided files and move them to python lxserv folder.
2) Open Modo, go to the Schematic Viewport and select "Add".
3) Check that the "py.simple.kinematics" modifier is present. 
4) Close Modo and edit the customer provided file by uncommenting the chmod_time() line and deleting the chunk below it down to the chmod_flags line.
5) Re-open Modo and add the "py.simple.kinematics" modifier inside of the Schematic viewport. If this doesn't result in a crash try adding the "py.simple.kinematics" modifier with the channel list open.
 
Expected behaviour
"py.simple.kinematics" modifier should be added to the Schematic Viewport.
 
Actual behaviour
Modo crashes.
