Problem summary
Uv.split not working as expected.

Steps to reproduce
1) Launch Modo.
2) Open customer provided scene.
3) Go to UV layout.
4) Create new UV map and select UV Projection Tool.
5) Select Edges at the top of the viewport.
6) In the 3D Viewport select two edge loops on the beveled edge of the mesh.
7) In UV Split and Sew Tools select Split Medium.
8) Split UVs are immediately seen as distorted.
9) Select the Move Tool and move the UVs in the UV Viewport.
10) Note that the UVs are not properly split along the chosen edges.
Expected behaviour
The UVs should be completely split as expected.
Actual behaviour
UVs are not completely split.
Workaround
Unknown.
