Wacom Tablet input lag while navigating camera in heavy scenes

Steps to reproduce
 
1) Create some test geometry and subdivide it until you have around 50,000,000 polygons (different machines may require more/fewer polygons to reproduce)

2) Navigate/orbit in the viewport with a tablet

3) Compare how smooth the movement is to a mouse
 
Expected behaviour
The navigation movement should be similar.
 
Actual behaviour
Navigation with a tablet is stuttered.
 
Workaround
Entering the following commands into the Linux command line should workaround the problem:

 

xinput list

to view the IDs of your devices

Before Launch >

xinput float [ID (stylus)]

Running Modo >

xinput reattach [ID (stylus)] [ID (Master Pointer)] 

 
Reproduced by support
This bug has been reproduced with a Wacom Intuos PTK-640 in:
Modo 16.0v1 - CentOS 7.9 - Ubuntu 20.04
Modo 15.0v1 - CentOS 7.9 - Ubuntu 20.04 - regression
 
Unable to reproduce bug in:
Modo 14.2v2 - CentOS 7.9 - Ubuntu 20.04
 
Earliest version tested
Modo 14.2v2 - This issue doesn't appear in this version and has regressed
